How a deal works

From the field to the port.

Six stages, one accountable partner. Here is exactly what happens — and what you receive — at each step.

  1. You → AgriLink

    Step 1: Enquiry & brief

Tell us what you want to buy or sell: product, quality specs, volumes, packaging, Incoterms, target port and timing. We confirm the fit and agree our role and fee in writing before any work starts.

    • Product specification
    • Brokerage agreement
  2. AgriLink

Step 2: Sourcing & due diligence

We shortlist producers, exporters or importers from our network and check company registration, export credentials and track record. Samples and quality certificates are requested where needed.

    • Counterparty shortlist
    • Company checks
    • Samples & certificates
  3. Buyer ⇄ Seller, led by AgriLink

    Step 3: Offer & negotiation

We present firm offers and negotiate price, quality tolerances, payment terms and the delivery schedule on your behalf — keeping both sides informed at every turn.

    • Firm offer
    • Agreed commercial terms
  4. Buyer & Seller sign directly

    Step 4: Sales contract

The agreed terms go into a sales contract signed directly between buyer and seller. We coordinate drafts and amendments; payment runs between the parties through their banks.

    • Signed sales contract
    • Payment terms fixed
  5. Independent providers, coordinated by AgriLink

    Step 5: Inspection & shipping

Pre-shipment inspection, fumigation, phytosanitary and origin certificates, freight booking and export documents — arranged with specialised third-party providers.

    • Inspection report
    • Phyto & origin certificates
    • Bill of lading
  6. AgriLink until delivery

    Step 6: Arrival & close-out

We follow the shipment, help resolve questions at discharge and customs, and stay involved until the goods are received and the deal is formally closed.

    • Shipment follow-up
    • Discharge support
    • Deal closed
Goods delivered — deal closed

FAQ

Good questions, straight answers.

Ask us anything else
Do you buy or sell the goods yourselves?

No. AgriLink is an intermediary. The sales contract is signed directly between the buyer and the seller; we represent one side and coordinate the deal through to delivery.

Which side do you represent?

Either the buyer or the seller. Which side we act for, and on what terms, is set out in a written mandate before any work starts.

Who pays your commission?

It is agreed in writing in the mandate, together with the amount and when it becomes due. In most cases it is earned only on a successfully completed transaction.

Which Incoterms do you work with?

Whatever suits the deal — commonly FOB, CFR and CIF for sea freight, and others where appropriate. We help both sides understand the cost and risk split.

Is there a minimum order size?

It depends on the commodity. Most of our deals are containerised or bulk shipments; tell us your volumes and we'll tell you honestly whether we can help.

How are payments made?

Directly between the parties through their banks — for example by letter of credit or bank transfer, as agreed in the contract. We coordinate the documents payments depend on, but never handle the money.

Can you arrange quality inspection?

Yes. We coordinate pre-shipment and, where needed, discharge inspection with independent inspection companies chosen or approved by the parties.

Let’s grow your trade across continents.

Tell us what you buy or sell — we’ll come back with the right counterparties and a clear path to delivery.
